Well, the fine people at The SEOtree have done it again. They just released some new tools for you to increase your networking capability. If you don’t know about The SEOtree, you can find my post on it here.

The whole notion of The SEOtree is to build a network around you in one spot. On the site, you can post your articles and add your page to its directory (your site’s stats will be updated automatically). Then for all of your SEO (search engine optimization) needs, you can click on the forum and ask questions. The site is really starting to grow some legs and start walking. It won’t be long before it will be flooded with traffic.

The reason this up-and-coming site is so successful is due to the creativity of the originator. He saw a need for a one-stop-shop site for SEO enthusiasts and newcomers. In order to help promote the activity on his site, he made it even easier to use by creating buttons, Wordpress plugins and a FireFox toolbar. I have installed both the Wordpress plugin and toolbar.

The secret to building a good network and associated traffic from it is directly related to how much you interact within Internet communities. Everyone knows Stumbleupon, Digg, del.icio.us, reddit and the like are great networking tools. The idea is to accomplish as much networking as possible in the shortest amount of time. The same goes with income sites like Social Poster and all of the FireFox extensions and toolbars. When a site comes out in the first couple weeks with add-onsseotree1.JPG like FireFox extensions and Wordpress plugins, you can be sure its creator means business and is doing anything possible to encourage the site’s growth.

I said it once and I will say it again, we are going to see some great things come from The SEOtree in the future. I love using the plugins for easy submissions of articles. Don’t forget you can also get a paid link in the directory for Entrecredits. I have seen my authority on Technorati jump to 25 in 3 weeks of blogging, not to mention the Alexa jump to 276,530 in the same time. Building your network is building your road to online success. I wish you all well.

Top 10 things to do with the dollar

Fantastic Friday to everyone and welcome to my blog. As some of you know I tend to put up a light-hearted posts early on Fridays in hopes of making your last day at work more enjoyable. Perhaps later tonight I will do a puzzle worth entrecredits, but I digress.

Top 10 things to do with the dollar.

As most of you know the dollar isn’t doing so well on the international stage, so I have come up with 10 cleaver things you can do with your sinking currency.

  1. Burn them. At the rate the Federal Reserve prints out our bills, you will be able to burn them in order to stay warm or cook a meal. I have even heard that every kind of bill burns the same. I won’t get into the physics of it, but you can trust me.
  2. Use as clothing. Soon enough, it will become more cost efficient for you to stuff your shirts and coats with dollars. Then you would save on the high cost of buying newspapers.
  3. Make origami. The art of origami will serve you well in the future. Fold those cranes and other figures out of dollars, and sell them for a more valuable currency.
  4. Wash the bills. Counterfeiting a currency isn’t new, but using dollars to make another currency is. All you need are some chemicals and some ink, and soon you will be rollin’ in Euros. Besides, nobody will notice the little magnetic strip in them. Who even looks for those?
  5. Glue them. If you collect enough bills, you could glue them together like paper mache and build yourself a house. “But Josh what about the rain and snow?” That’s thinking too far ahead, in my opinion.
  6. Paint them. The business card of the future will be a bunch of dollars painted white and colored on. We already know they fit well in the wallet, fold easily, are somewhat durable, are large enough for old people to read and get thrown away without a problem.
  7. Cut them up. With the price of paper going through the roof, the confetti market is getting hammered pretty good. So, I suggest we start using dollars and a paper shredder to cover the lost profits.

  8. Smoke them. No more problems with tobacco paper going up either. Now just roll up a crisp hundo and burn away.
  9. Repellent. If you have a pesky neighbor to the north of south of our country, all you need to do is build a wall with dollars, and they will instantly know your country is worthless.tpdollar.JPG
  10. Roll’em. Who needs Charmin anymore when you can use the fine paper the government provides to wipe your backside? I am not sure if folding or scrunching would be better, but either way we know the dollar’s going to shit.

Sunday’s Random Rants

Hello all and yet another week has passed on the Unconventional Marketing Blog. There are a few things to touch on. I have a new contest running on the Contest page called “guess my next alexa ranking.” It is really simple. All you have to do is guess and be the closest to the next updated number to win.I will also be a guest post on the Entrecard blog. I will primarily be focusing on Entrecard contests and innovations. So if you are running any kind of contest and feel like telling me, I would love to help spread the word. On a side note, I will not spam the Entrecard blog with contests that are not genuine or realistic.

I am half way to my goal of 100 RSS subscribers thanks to the last contest. I am planning on running another contest this week probably involving more Entrecredits. If you are interested, you should subscribe now so you don’ t forget. If you already are subscribed, I thank you and will continue to include all subscribing members in upcoming contests.

This week I would like to have a guest poster talk about Unconventional Marketing. If you would like to do that send me an email to: josh@joshwhitford.com Of course all guest posts will have a link and plug for their blog.

Stats for JoshWhitford.com:

  • Day:18 of blogging

  • Technorati Favs: 14
  • Technorati Authority: 22
  • RSS subscribers: 51
  • Visitors: 10,761
  • Page Views: 24,201

It is not easy to say yet if I am going to pass the 30,000 visitor goal for the month of March with the first week pulling in roughly 5,000 unique visitors.

P.S. It’s still winter in Fargo, ND which entails below 0 weather and snow, spring is coming soon I can feel it.

Not just any tree, but The SEOtree

seotreeFor those of you not familiar with the Seotree, I would encourage you to check it out and give it a try. Essentially, there are four different areas for you to use on the site, which is ultimately a one-stop shop to getting you name and brand out.

First, is the social network area. Like Digg and other article submission sites, you have the ability to submit and vote on articles. The site is new and the chances of you making it to the front of the line are great, so there is no reason to pass on free traffic. Remember that publicity, good or bad, is still publicity.

The second leg of the site offers a directory submission for your blog. The good news for all the Entrecarders out there is the ability to pay with Entrecredits instead of the $5 or $10 submission fee. Either way, I feel the investment is worth it simply because the site is so new, and you are guaranteed to get noticed. Not to mention that the extra link juice helps with your technorati authority. Simply participating in link exchanges and directory submission has given me an authority of 17 in a week. Technorati authority is measured in the number of links and posts that talk or make reference to your blog. The higher the number the better.

The forum is a new addition to the site and is coming to life rapidly. It is loaded with many different categories under different purposes. When you are in need of some SEO friendly faces, this is the page you will be going to. I can quickly imagine this as the place to find the most help and resources in the near future.

Last but not least is the site’s blog. Here you will find all the latest updates and goings on of the site. Ultimately, the site has a nice, warm, inviting feel to it and a simple easy to understand layout. I have high hopes for the success of the site and full confidence the creator has the vision and foresight to carry it through. I would encourage you to take a look and consider joining the SEO community.
