It’s all about the story you tell
One of the best marketing ideas and advice I have to offer is to develop your story. Everyone has a story and that story you tell will lead you in your sales. Increasing sales and exposure is the reason most of us started a business to begin with.
Take the time to really think through what story you want to present to your customers. I hope you choose one that is truthful and not just a misrepresentation of your product or service. People naturally relate to others. Giving them something to relate to you about is a huge key.
This is why every year more and more of the same sports movies come out to theaters nationwide. In the end, the underdog team always captures the title and learns a valuable lesson in honor and teamwork. That moment of triumph is what compels us to try our best. We can all relate to a moment of triumph or defeat. That is a story.
Perfecting your story is almost like perfecting your elevator pitch. Venture capitalists aren’t just looking for raw data and numbers to determine weather or not they are going to invest in your business, they are looking for the heart, soul and character of the person asking. Your customer is looking for the same thing.
Develop your story and begin to share it with others.

I think you raise a good point. Most successful entrepenurs are passionate about their idea, and believe in its success. The story is relevant and should be heard.
Josh – Love your site always have! Are you playing on words in your title? RIO is somewhere I'd like to be right now instead of Chicago!
Ha, thanks for being the first to notice that. I totally glazed that one over, geez. I need to quit drinking copious amounts of coffee before I start writing.
Josh, how do you like the SEO Super Comments plugin? I'm just curious is all
I like it because of the increased pages for indexing as well as being able to add people to the approved list. That way if you are just trying to get the link back without true interaction you get neither. Its only a test. Although, since using Disqus this plugin doesn't actually work on the site right now. Again another test.
