I would like to ask Gary, “What is YOUR strategy for viral marketing?”
My question for Gary – I would like to have a glass or two of wine at night but don’t want to drink a whole bottle does, he have any recommendations to preserve the rest of the bottle for later? Is there such a thing as a wine worth drinking that comes in a box? Do the wine preservation gases work? What does he recommend?
Good luck on the interview. I’m looking forward to it. How are you going to do it? By phone, Skype, in person?
I love this guy. One of the few A-listers that is not a douche-bag. Good luck Josh.
@steve the interview will be over Google Voice so I can record the mp3 and mix it up afterwards. Not the biggest audio visual tech geek so can def. use some advice if you got any.
Here’s my question to Gary-
I’ve been a happy worker of the governmental system as a Building Plans Examiner and Inspector for over 15 years but have currently found myself facing unemployment. The sad part is that I truly LOVE what I do with a deep passion that you describe that is needed for a business. The difficult part for myself is translating the passion of a regulated job into a niche that is no longer viable. The other passions in my life don’t compare to reviewing plans. What advise would you give me and other government system workers that need to recreate themselves and tap into a new passion and make a new start in life?
Ha! I like that. “One of the A-listers that is not a douche-bag.”
I just want to know how I can make my web site or my brand stand out. How do I get random people to remember me?
And, will Gary come to Fargo?
Josh,
My question for Gary V. is:
Through it all—the BS, the nay sayers, the sleepless nights, the people telling you you were insane, or that you didn’t have a hope in hell, or who simply wanted to cut you down and dismantle your dream because they could not fulfill their own (through fear and their own baggage), what kept you going? What kept telling you “Don’t quit Gary, stick at it!”?
Josh, I know this isn’t directly connected to marketing or business. But the point is, without the right mindset, without the right attitude, everything else is pretty much useless.

If you’re a good connector and a strong community builder, it’s been a struggle for me to find the “one” area I’m able to talk on / blog about…
For instance, if you’re passionate about tea, start a tea blog, but what about if you’re passionate about the community, connecting people with one another to help each other’s businesses, etc…what is THAT play?
What direction or focus should I take / blog / video about in that arena? Thanks a ton as I’ve been struggling with this for awhile!
Ask Gary if he has an advice for recent college graduates on how to get noticed in the current job market. How do you make yourself stand out?
