This is an awesome idea. Josh: Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
I immediately sent this link to my list and added the idea that certain businesses and or professional practices might want to do a pre-holiday mailing of the "lost wallet" to clients as lumpy mail. That is sure to get opened and quite eye catching. Be well. Dave Frees -

I think this was a great idea by Burger King. Now, I'd like to see them deploy it to all of their largest markets simultaneously. They could also take something from what Pepsi did and seed these wallets (or future promotions) to bloggers, fan forum participants of Burger King, etc to create more buy-in and guaranteed coverage.

@Tom, It might seem expensive but if they don't use it then BK isn't out anything. Plus, we are not taking about it and neither of us probably live in Chicago or frequent BK.

Seems like an expensive way to advertise to me...but I guess if it goes viral with everyone talking about it, it could actually be a cheap marketing method.

Talking about thinking outside the box. I wonder how many people are still scared about using the coupons. Maybe they are waiting for Chris Hansen to pop out from behind the wall.

Thats pretty cool if you ask me. I guess any promotion to attract customers at a time when people are not spending much will help them.
I'm sureyou will see a few other places follow suit later on down the road I would assume.

HOLY COW. What a great idea. Man, I wish I could come up with awesome marketing concepts like that an implement them on a national level. Outstanding creative.

My initial reaction was to think that it is sad that our society has eroded away to the point that we have to market to people's dishonesty. Until I read that there was a note in there informing the finder that the it was in fact a promotion.
