I don’t know if you have noticed, but the Real Estate market is taking a bit of a beating. When things in a market change so drastically in a sort time period, people have to get creative to preserve business and their way of life, none more is true than in real estate.
One of the more creative real estate marketing ideas I have seen lately is to raffle off your house. There are some catches to the whole deal, including state and local laws. That brings us to USAHomeRaffle.com. It set up a way to raffle off your home and donate anything above the appraisal value to a charity. Having a connection to a charity is the only way for the raffle to be legitimate in most states.
The key to this success is to have a real marketing plan on how you can sell exactly enough tickets to compensate for the appraised value of the home. Don’t worry, if the required amount is not reached you won’t be forced to sell for less than your home is worth. On the flip side, if you sell more tickets than what your home is worth, the extra is donated to your select charity.
I think is could be an interesting way to sell a home, not to mention it has the potential to really help out a distressed homeowner or charity organization.
I think this kind of marketing idea could even pay into rental homes in raffling out vacation packages to different and exciting destinations. Don’t forget that raffles have to be set up in a way to comply with all federal, state and local laws. Do your homework first.
Would you ever raffle off your home or rental home?

I know that they will have to look at all of their local laws to make sure they don't break any. None-the-less a fun idea to try.

This is a really interesting concept. I hadn't heard of using a raffle before but think, as you mentioned, that it could be used in several different ways.

Hey, Josh
it's a really interesting way, I haven't heard about real estate ruffle before. Interesting thing that I've noticed in the Bay Area: when the market was doing OK, prices for houses in good neighborhoods were high in the sky. Now, when market is down, I don't see that value for these house wend down anyhow. They are still expensive. Some people have been waiting for foreclosure in good neighborhood, but it's not gonna happen. And I guess, there is no "good time" for buying a house. It's always a good time for those who have money::))
