@Metroknow You are right, Content is King. But people need to find that content. If you are in a niche like Make Money Online with the thousands of other blogs like it then it will be hard to rank your site and content. That is when PR and backlinks turn a mole hill into a mountain. I primary argument is that the best visitors come from the search engines and the best way to rank is with good original content that has support, backlinks.

Josh - I really appreciated this post, but I have a question: I have read a LOT of posts elsewhere that devalue Page Rank. And thus, I don't pay any attention to it at all...I have always thought that the content would be the reason people would read and return, not the PR number. But now I'm questioning that, if folks organize their bookmarks according to popularity metrics.

Thoughts? Am I missing the boat here?

Metroknow - AlmostFit.com's last blog post..Can you make artisan bread like this? In only 5 minutes?

Great post Josh.

How about adding easy way #6?

Write a post about another blogger just as YOU recently did with Marcus Hochstadt.

Marcus really appreciated it and reciprocated with Josh Whitford Caught Me".

I like this approach because it's based on the principle that you have to give in order to get.

Larry Brauner's last blog post..Rationale for Social Networking
