JakeI have no doubt that if you are a member of Entrecard, you have probably seen this guy’s avatar on a few blogs. The author of MoreMerchant.com is Jake Rinard (link to his personal blog), a 31-year-old who I am completely jealous of. Why am I so jealous? Well, he has been working online since 1997. When I was busy playing games in computer class in high school, he was making money via the Internet.

The blog has a variety of post topics, ranging from eBay to affiliate marketing, economics and politics. I can already tell I would probably get along pretty well with this guy. I appreciate the tell-it-as-it-is, no nonsense reviews of different products and services like this one on Kontera. I do wish there were a few more personal opinions in the mix, or possible successes or failures after using different advertising campaigns.

More importantly, I believe 90% of someone’s credibility comes from his or her actions, not just words. Using that as our Litmus test, there is a lot to learn just by combing through Jake’s blog. Take notice of how he links to related topics, where he places his ads, the use of affiliate links and so on. There is a lot I can learn and will be adopting for myself as well. I have no doubt Jake is doing what he loves and having a great time doing it.
