As with any religion or society there are a basic set of guidelines by which people adhere to. Christianity has the 10 commandments, United States with the Bill of Rights and Constitution, or the SEObook and Aaron Wall for search engine optimization. Now it is time for the 10 Blogging Commandments, those set of instruction by which we bloggers can live and judge by.
- Thou shall not think that you are the best. With over 175,000 new blogs a day popping up it is only a matter of time before someone knocks you off your pedestal.
- Thou shall not take the lord’s name in vain, “Oh, Googledammit!”
- Thou shall take time away from the computer. Great ideas come even when you spend time away from blog and even your computer.
- Thou shall not forget who got you to success. If you stick with it long enough you will be successful blogging online, never forget those who helped get you there.
- Thou shall not kill thy fellow blogger. Believe it or not online grudges can make it to the real world. The same laws that apply offline exist online.
- Thou shall not cheat on your blog. People see right through the phony posts and generic reviews, so don’t force that upon your patronage.
- Thou shall not steal others content. Stealing others content just makes you look stupid and leading to you becoming an outcast very quickly (not worth linking to the cheats sites).
- Thou shall not post comments in secret of under other names. Given enough time or slander someone will find you out and call you on it.
- Thou shall not covet another’s blogs. Try as you may if you are a copy cat blog you will always be labeled as so.
- Thou shall not covet another bloggers wife or girlfriend.
