Believe it or not, but 7-11 does not make all of its money selling gas. In fact it barely makes any money at all from gas sales. This is the same with all the other gas stations. The truth is they make only $.02-.03 per gallon of gas. I would hardly call that a markup. We all know that gas stations make their money from the highly over-priced goods they sell. You know the $1 candy bar and $2 soda and so on.
We all go to gas stations typically for gas. While in line we see all of the little treats and nick knacks giving into our compulsive impulses and better judgment, we purchase. The goal for a blog is to provide that basic service either free of charge or with virtually a 0% markup, while feeding the compulsive impulse of the reader. What if I said that tomorrow there was going to be a 50/50 chance that I will give away $10,000 or 100,000 entrecredits. Would you come back tomorrow and check? Maybe, but knowing there isn’t a chance of that happening, you would probably just write it off. I know I would. So where does this leave us?
7-11, famous or its slurpees, makes profits from selling the things people can live without, but they only do it by providing something that people need. What is it that your blog or webpage provides that people need? What sets you apart from everyone else? How do you plan on distinguishing yourself from the others?
Over the next month I am going to describe how to accomplish some of these tasks, as well as how I left my life of the cubicle for one of freedom online. I am excited to share my experiences and see ultimately how this experiment plays out.

You say here, "7-11, famous or its slurpees, makes profits from selling the things people can live without, but they only do it by providing something that people need."
Isn't it more that 7-11 are providing something people want? They don't need it, do they?

More importantly 7-11 is playing into people compulsive nature. Typically, someone going to buy gas that the local quickie mart isn't planning on buy a slurpee, they just do because it is there.

Agree, You can't do it every business, It that 7-11 doing this, if everyone start selling something along with the thing you seek to buy then it may happen that people see you as a cheater. So my idea is that be look as you are and don't trap public. Those who buys these high prized goods ask them they hate 7-11 for this.
